(Photo submitted.)

With new president Tianna Rager in charge of FCA this year, the group has created several new activities throughout the 2015-16 school year. Recently, members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, along with Rager, have put together their first ever FCA week. “We wanted to enlarge FCA and make it a more known group throughout the school,” said Rager. Throughout the week, FCA shirts were on sale for $15. Monday was teacher appreciation day with hand written thank you notes to all the teachers, as well as a guest speaker, Andy Lynch, from channel 44 during Knight Time. Tuesday evening after all spring athletic practices, Gatorades were given to all the athletes from FCA members. On Wednesday, FCA had a pizza party during lunch, and a “prayer at the fishbowl” was held at 12:05 p.m. outside the high school office. Today, a concert from Attaboy took place at the end of the day for all students and teachers six through twelfth grade to attend. All week long, meetings were held in Mr. Bagley’s room at 7:30 a.m. for a devotional to start their day.

Last Thursday, Crestview seventh graders had their wax museum at the end of the day. For language arts, each student picked a famous person or fictional character to study and create a display about. They gathered in the high school gym a week ago and dressed up like their person and when people pushed their button, they would “come alive” and give a biography about themselves. “It was cool acting like a different person and I enjoyed finding out new information that I didn’t know,” said Bailey Gregory. The exhibit was open to the public for parents to come see, as well as several classrooms in the elementary to view. It was the second year this has taken place for seventh graders.

Crestview seniors are anxiously awaiting their senior trip that they are attending this Monday, March 28 and 29. They will be traveling to Columbus to take a tour of the state house and Supreme Court building, as well as bowling and shopping at the Tuttle Crossing Mall. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the Ohio Supreme Court House and spending time with my fellow seniors,” said Leslie Skelton. They will be returning back in Convoy on Tuesday around 3 p.m. to attend athletic games and practices that night.

By Haley Helm With new president Tianna Rager in charge of FCA this year, the group has created several new activities throughout the 2015-16 school year.
