{"id":74856,"date":"2016-03-30T06:46:15","date_gmt":"2016-03-30T11:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=74856"},"modified":"2016-03-30T06:46:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-30T11:46:15","slug":"what-others-are-saying-about-the-pac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/03\/30\/what-others-are-saying-about-the-pac\/","title":{"rendered":"What others are saying about &#8216;the PAC&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I know many of you are very proud of our Niswonger Performing Arts Center (commonly referred to as \u201cThe PAC\u201d).\u00a0 It has taken nearly 10 years to earn our respect, but most have become believers in the arts of Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>It is one thing to blow our own horns, but when you hear about it from \u201coutsiders,\u201d it somehow becomes even more credible.\u00a0This is the case when a Van Wert County Foundation board member shared an article written recently by the editor of the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel.\u00a0He had attended the BJ Thomas concert on February 27 of this year.\u00a0It was his first Niswonger concert experience.\u00a0 He talked about what a beautiful venue we had and what fine acoustics there are.\u00a0He concluded by saying, \u201cWhere have I been for the past nine years?\u00a0 I will certainly be back!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s amazing how so many Fort Wayne residents feel that Van Wert must be a couple hours away; if they even know where Van Wert is!\u00a0 The News-Sentinel editor included in his comments that Van Wert is just over a half-hour drive from Fort Wayne.\u00a0We all know that.\u00a0Many of them apparently don\u2019t!\u00a0Now, more will.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not only audience members who are talking positively about the Niswonger PAC.\u00a0 Many of our performers have commented on what a great experience it was to perform on our stage and for our audience.\u00a0 They love the acoustics and the intimacy they have with the audience.\u00a0 We have 1,200 seats in our hall, which puts us on the small to mid-size range for PACs.\u00a0What many performers enjoy about the Niswonger is that it \u201cfeels\u201d good to them.\u00a0 It\u2019s almost like a living room atmosphere, although there can be up to 1,200 people in the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Performers are consistently requesting we re-book them.\u00a0Although we do and have, it has been my policy to bring in as many new performers as possible.\u00a0On occasion, a performer is just so outstanding that you just must have them back.<\/p>\n<p>Another aspect of the Niswonger experience for performers is that they get treated well.\u00a0Our staff and volunteers do an excellent job of going out of their way to accommodate many of their requests.\u00a0We still can\u2019t get over the fact that artists would travel so far to share their talent with us.\u00a0I guess we\u2019ll be fine as long as we continue to treat others nicely.\u00a0This is a good life lesson for all of us.<\/p>\n<p>Next season is starting to come together.\u00a0It will be our 10th season and we plan to celebrate in a big way!\u00a0Stay tuned.\u00a0Announcements will be made in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Also just around the corner is the Fountain Park Summer Music Series.\u00a0The first concert will be on June 3.\u00a0A total of eight concerts and even a post-concert outdoor movie will be featured this summer.\u00a0Remember to get your name into the hat if you are a non-profit organization wanting some action in serving food at one of the concerts.\u00a0Contact the Van Wert County Foundation by April 1 to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re not done at the PAC for this season either.\u00a0The American Boychoir will be in concert on April 10 at 3 p.m.\u00a0 You won\u2019t want to miss this world famous boychoir in concert at the Niswonger.\u00a0Get your tickets now!<\/p>\n<p>FIN\u00c9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know many of you are very proud of our Niswonger Performing Arts Center (commonly referred to as \u201cThe PAC\u201d).\u00a0 It has taken nearly 10 years to earn our respect, but most have become believers in the arts of Van Wert.
