{"id":75524,"date":"2016-04-19T08:19:28","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T13:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=75524"},"modified":"2016-04-19T08:19:40","modified_gmt":"2016-04-19T13:19:40","slug":"latta-co-sponsores-nuclear-energy-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/04\/19\/latta-co-sponsores-nuclear-energy-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"Latta co-sponsors nuclear energy bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013\u00a0U.S. Representatives Bob Latta (R-Ohio) and Jerry McNerney (D-California) introduced the Advanced Nuclear Technology Development Act of 2016.\u00a0 This bipartisan legislation will help provide the regulatory structure needed for safe, advanced nuclear energy to continue playing an important role in the U.S. energy portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>The Advanced Nuclear Technology Development Act of 2016 requires the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to collaborate to provide certainty for the development of advanced nuclear technology.
