{"id":77838,"date":"2016-07-07T07:39:34","date_gmt":"2016-07-07T12:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=77838"},"modified":"2016-07-07T07:40:45","modified_gmt":"2016-07-07T12:40:45","slug":"man-life-flighted-after-rv-semi-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/07\/07\/man-life-flighted-after-rv-semi-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Man life-flighted after RV-semi accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CONVOY &#8212; An Indiana man was life-flighted following an RV-semi tractor-trailer accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ohio 49 on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigating troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 1995 Holiday Imperial recreational vehicle driven by Brian Erne, 33, of Warsaw, Indiana, was headed east on U.S. 30 when a 1999 Freightliner semi operated by Kenneth Cambron, 78, of Port Jefferson, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2340\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"osplogo\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>entered the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 and failed to yield the right-of-way to the RV. Erne took evasive action, but was unable to avoid the collision.<\/p>\n<p>After hitting the semi, the RV slid off the right side of the highway, struck a road sign, and overturned before coming to rest alongside the highway.<\/p>\n<p>A passenger in the RV, Kim Erne, 52, also of Warsaw, was not using a seatbelt and was ejected from the RV. She was flown by Samaritan helicopter medical services to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for treatment of serious injuries. Erne was wearing a seatbelt and claimed no injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The Convoy EMS squad took Cambron to Van Wert County Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.<\/p>\n<p>The Patrol was also assisted at the scene by the Van Wert County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Gideon Towing and Recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation, while troopers remind motorists to always buckle up, and to use caution at intersections, allowing ample time for vehicles that have the right-of-way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent\/submitted information CONVOY &#8212; An Indiana man was life-flighted following an RV-semi tractor-trailer accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ohio 49 on Wednesday afternoon.
