Dobner, 89, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Rita\u2019s Medical Center in Lima.<\/p>\n<p>He was born August 7, 1926, in Lima, the son of Frank and Flora (Keller) Dobner, who both preceded him in death. He married Elizabeth \u201cBetty Ann\u201d German, who died January 17, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include a son, Bruce Dobner of Delphos; one daughter, Lynn Dobner Boes of Delphos; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8711\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8711\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" alt=\"American Flag for obituaries 6-2011\" width=\"125\" height=\"66\" \/><\/a>A son, Neal Dobner; three brothers, Paul, Walter, and Ralph Dobner; and two sisters, Margie Chapman and Mary Catherine Dobner, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will be in St. John\u2019s Cemetery in Delphos, with graveside military honors rendered by the Delphos Veterans Council. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preferred memorials: St. John\u2019s Athletic Boosters or St. John\u2019s Grade School Scholarship Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harterandschier.com\">www.harterandschier.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald F.
