Riggenbach is seeking information on a daylight burglary that occurred late this morning in Pleasant Township.<\/p>\n<p>According to the sheriff, his office received a call at 11:19 a.m. today from a Pleasant Township resident who interrupted a burglary at his home on Richey Road, between Old Tile Factor Road and Lincoln Highway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/VW-County-Sheriffs-Star-9-2014.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-55568\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-55568\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/VW-County-Sheriffs-Star-9-2014.jpg\" alt=\"VW County Sheriff's Star 9-2014\" width=\"250\" height=\"239\" \/><\/a>The suspect fled the scene after the homeowner heard the man in his house. The man is described as a white male, 5 foot, 5 inches to 5 foot, 8 inches tall, with dark hair. The man drove away in what was believed to be a charcoal-colored 2012 or newer Infinity or Nissan four-door passenger vehicle that did not have a front license plate.<\/p>\n<p>There was no physical assault and the homeowner was unharmed. Deputies collected evidence at the scene and will forward it to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation laboratory for analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Riggenbach is asking anyone who has any information about the burglary, or who may have seen the suspect\u2019s vehicle, to contact his office at 419.238.3866. Area residents should also contact the sheriff\u2019s office immediately when they see any suspicious activity.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Riggenbach also encourages local residents to lock their homes and any vehicles parked at their residence.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the above number, area residents can also use the CrimeTips link on the Sheriff\u2019s Office website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanwertcountysheriff.com\">www.vanwertcountysheriff.com<\/a> to submit information.
