{"id":78053,"date":"2016-07-13T23:12:35","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T04:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=78053"},"modified":"2016-07-13T23:12:53","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T04:12:53","slug":"bryan-man-hurt-in-crash-with-wrecker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/07\/13\/bryan-man-hurt-in-crash-with-wrecker\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryan man hurt in collision with wrecker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>PAULDING COUNTY &#8212; A Bryan man was seriously injured when his car collided with a wrecker on U.S. 24 in Paulding County on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Preston Downs, 19, was taken to Defiance Regional Hospital by the Defiance EMS squad, but later flown by ProMedica helicopter medical transport to Toledo Hospital, where he was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2340\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"osplogo\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>According to troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2009 Ford F-650 wrecker driven by Cameron Renfer, 18, of Liberty Center, was headed east on U.S. 24 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. A 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix driven south on Paulding County Road 143 by Downs then drove in front of the wrecker, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Following the collision, the wrecker veered off the right side of the highway and overturned, while the Pontiac slid into the median and came to rest there.<\/p>\n<p>Renfer, who was wearing a seatbelt, was apparently uninjured.<\/p>\n<p>Other units assisting the Patrol at the accident scene included Defiance Fire and EMS, Paulding Fire and EMS, and KK Towing and Collision.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation.
