After the first day of events at the Western Buckeye League Track and Field Tournament held in Van Wert, the Cougar boys’ track team is seventh out of 10 teams after four events, while the Lady Cougars haven’t yet scored after three events. Zach Keirns scored six of Van Wert’s seven points, earning four points for a fourth-place finish in the long jump (19 feet, 10 inches) and two points for a fifth-place finish in the shot-put (43 feet, 7 3\/4 inches). Also scoring was the boys’ 4×800-meter relay team (Eric Easley, Cody Rolsten, Luke Brubaker and Nate Wilhelm), which finished sixth.
