Amelia Salinas, 79, of Van Wert, passed way at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.<\/p>\n
She was born June 8, 1937, in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Benito and Fidencia (Nieto) Pi\u00f1a, who both preceded her in death. On April 8, 1961, she married Mike Salinas, who died August 9, 1993.<\/p>\n
Survivors include a daughter, Stella Salinas of Van Wert; two brothers, Eli Pi\u00f1a of Lima and Richard Pi\u00f1a of Chicago, Illinois; and three sisters, Carmen (Armando) Garcia of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lupe (Baldemar) Bejarano of Defiance, and Teresa Qui\u00f1ones of Lima.<\/p>\n
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa and Father Stan Szybka officiating.
