On Sunday, October 2, at 7 p.m., Central Insurance presents motivational and inspirational speaker Jon Gordon.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_79601\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-79601\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-79601\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Jon-Gordon-headshot-9-2016.jpg\" alt=\"Jon Gordon\" width=\"150\" height=\"224\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-79601\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Jon Gordon<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Gordon\u2019s experience with leadership training has brought enrichment and encouragement to business organizations, big and small, including Fortune 500 companies, numerous NFL, NBA, MLB coaches and teams, hospitals, non-profits, and, most importantly, school districts.<\/p>\n<p>The Niswonger is looking to spur interest in local school districts as well. Bryan City Schools Superintendent Diana Savage is very familiar with Gordon\u2019s message and has already put them to the test.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJon Gordon&#8217;s inspirational messages and thought provoking ideas have challenged me to become a better leader and person,\u201d Savage said. \u201cI have incorporated lessons from <em>The Energy Bus<\/em> into my curriculum for school leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Savage has encouraged her school district to attend and is: \u201clooking forward to hearing [Gordon\u2019s] message this fall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gordon is the author of numerous books including The Wall Street Journal bestseller <em>The Energy Bus<\/em>, <em>Soup<\/em>, <em>The No Complaining Rule<\/em>, <em>Training Camp<\/em>, and <em>The Carpenter<\/em>. He and his tips have been featured on \u201cThe Today Show\u201d, CNN, \u201cFox and Friends\u201d, and in numerous magazines and newspapers. His clients include The Atlanta Falcons, L.A. Clippers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Campbell Soup, Wells Fargo, Northwestern Mutual, Publix, Southwest Airlines, Bayer, West Point Academy and more.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a master\u2019s degree in education from Emory University.
