{"id":79924,"date":"2016-09-15T07:24:20","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T12:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=79924"},"modified":"2016-09-15T07:24:20","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T12:24:20","slug":"lancer-boys-1st-girls-2nd-at-elida-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/09\/15\/lancer-boys-1st-girls-2nd-at-elida-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Lancer boys 1st, girls 2nd at Elida meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert independent sports<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ELIDA &#8212; The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed in the Elida Invitational on Tuesday night.\u00a0The boys easily won the meet for the fourth consecutive year, scoring only 26 points and placing their top five runners in the top 15.<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers were led by Karter Tow, second (17:12); Austin Elick third (17:22); Jacob Keysor, fourth (17:29); Tracey West, sixth (17:52); and Joe Sadowski, 11th (18:38).\u00a0Rounding out the top seven runners were Devon Bill, 13th; and Ryan Rager, 22nd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a good bounce-back meet for the boys,\u201d said Lincolnview Head Coach Matt Langdon.\u00a0\u201cWe did not run to our full potential last weekend at Tiffin and it was good to see the boys respond so quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was really proud of how they fought and attacked the course,\u201d Coach Langdon added.\u00a0\u201cThis was a big step forward for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lincolnview girls\u2019 team placed second, only two points from winning the meet.\u00a0They were led by Rylee Byrne, third (22:10); Alena Looser, fourth (22:19); Tori Snyder, fifth (22:28); Madeline Snyder, 13th (23:06); and Miah Katalenas, 32nd (25:59).\u00a0Rounding out the top seven were Ryanne Ducheney (38th), and\u00a0Kaylee Hobbs (39th).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe girls showed a lot of heart tonight,\u201d said Coach Langdon.\u00a0\u201cWe are missing two of our top girls, and nursing injuries with two others, but the girls fought hard tonight and really wanted to win the meet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite falling just a few points short, we ran as well as we could have as a team and I was excited to see them fighting so hard,\u201d he added.\u00a0\u201cThis will pay off down the road if we can get some of our girls healthy again.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_79925\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-79925\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-79925 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Lincolnview-CC-at-Elida-Invite-9-2016.jpg\" alt=\"lincolnview-cc-at-elida-invite-9-2016\" width=\"545\" height=\"337\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-79925\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Lincolnview boy and girl runners at the Elida Cross Country Invitational earlier this week.<\/strong> <em>(photo submitted)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert independent sports ELIDA &#8212; The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed in the Elida Invitational on Tuesday night.\u00a0The boys easily won the meet for the fourth consecutive year, scoring only 26 points and placing their top five runners in the top 15.
