{"id":83173,"date":"2017-01-05T08:17:14","date_gmt":"2017-01-05T13:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=83173"},"modified":"2017-01-05T08:17:14","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T13:17:14","slug":"slusher-acting-odot-district-2-deputy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/01\/05\/slusher-acting-odot-district-2-deputy\/","title":{"rendered":"Slusher acting ODOT District 2 deputy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>BOWLING GREEN &#8212; Ohio Department of Transportation Director Jerry Wray announced that ODOT District 1 Deputy Director Kirk Slusher will also serve as acting deputy director of ODOT District 2 until a permanent replacement is selected for outgoing deputy director Todd Audet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83174\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83174\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83174\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Slusher-Kirk-1-2011.jpg\" alt=\"Kirk Slusher\" width=\"150\" height=\"251\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83174\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Kirk Slusher<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Slusher will manage leadership responsibilities for districts 1 and 2 during this interim and will split his time between the District 1 office in Lima and the District 2 office in Bowling Green.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKirk has been an outstanding leader in District 1 the last six years and is well-equipped to balance the needs of both districts while we complete the process of selecting a permanent deputy director for District 2,\u201d said Director Wray. \u201cIn the meantime, we will engage in a thorough and thoughtful evaluation of candidates to ensure we select the best person to lead the Bowling Green office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slusher graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1986 with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and brings more than 30 years within ODOT of planning, design and construction engineering experience. He has served as the ODOT District 1 deputy director since 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The district deputy director supervises construction management, planning, engineering, highway management, business and human resources for their assigned counties.
