The subcommittee\u2019s\u00a0jurisdiction includes interstate and\u00a0foreign commerce,\u00a0oversight of the Federal Trade Commission, manufacturing, data security, and consumer affairs and protection.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_33253\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33253\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33253\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Latta-Bob-8-2012.jpg\" alt=\"U.S. Rep. Bob Latta<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection Subcommittee also has jurisdiction\u00a0over\u00a0many policies related to the Internet of Things. Latta has served as co-chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee\u2019s IoT Working Group since early last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to be named chairman of the Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection Subcommittee and look forward to tackling the challenges\u00a0before us in this new role,\u201d said Latta.\u00a0\u201cTechnology is changing the\u00a0face\u00a0of commerce, and this subcommittee will give us the opportunity to ensure that manufacturers and consumers across the country receive the benefits and protections needed to grow our economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time,\u00a0I\u2019m excited to continue to serve in a role that helps shape policy relating to the Internet of Things and data security.
