This\u00a0tradition continues from some of the most colorful and accomplished watercolor\u00a0artists in\u00a0Ohio and the states surrounding. There will be free refreshments, and a cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by Jimmy Solo of Edgerton.<\/p>\n<p>Get your tickets now and\u00a0receive $10 off! Our next big event coming up is Punk! Valentines scheduled for\u00a0February 18, 8p.m\u2013midnight. Punk! Valentines will feature the glam\/punk\u00a0rock\u00a0band, Vanity Crash from Cleveland. Vanity Crash is a popular in that area and\u00a0usually booked solid group throughout the Cleveland and Akron area. They will\u00a0also be bringing\u00a0a little unique fun; Bowieoke, (karaoke with some Bowie-esque\u00a0thrown in) along with a talented V.j. to host vintage videos on a large screen.\u00a0Ticket prices are available at:\u00a0$25\u00a0Individual; WAC member price, $30 Individual; regular price, $40 Couple; WAC\u00a0member price, $45 Couple; regular price. Ticket price includes everything except\u00a0cash bar. We\u00a0encourage you to research the glam, punk-rock era and dress\u00a0accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Art Classes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watercolor Techniques: <\/strong>Every Tuesday\u00a0from 10 a.m. \u2013 noon. On-going. $40 art center member\u00a0price\/$45 regular price. Instructor: Pat\u00a0Rayman. \u00a0Bring your watercolor equipment. \u00a0\u00a0Online\u00a0sign up available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ArtNight:<\/strong>\u00a0Every Thursday, 6\u20139 p.m. Featured\u00a0project for 2\/9: Psychedelic Wine Bottle lights. $15 gets you a wine bottle, a\u00a0set of battery lights, all materials\u00a0and will include your first glass of house\u00a0wine or beer. Additional glasses available at regular WAC prices. ArtNights\u00a0occur every Thursday evening from 6\u20139\u00a0p.m. It is free to hang out at ArtNight,\u00a0and you don\u2019t even have to make art. Sit and breeze a bit with folks. Feel free\u00a0to bring snacks and invite your friends and\u00a0the cash bar is open.<\/p>\n<p>Upcoming ArtNight featured projects:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2\/16: Catnip\u00a0Toys:<\/strong>\u00a0There is\u00a0nothing like a new cat toy to happy-up your favorite feline.\u00a0Infused with organic catnip and in the colors and\u00a0embellished however you like.\u00a0(dog toys can be made too) $8 gets you the makings for a toy and one\u00a0glass of house wine. Additional glasses at regular\u00a0prices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2\/23: Ceramic\u00a0Garden Stakes:\u00a0<\/strong>Have\u00a0you ever noticed that all the pre-made garden stakes out in the market never\u00a0have the exact things you plant? Well here&#8217;s\u00a0the chance to make your own. $6\u00a0will get you 3 stakes ($1per stake after that) and a glass of house wine.\u00a0Additional glasses available at regular WAC prices.\u00a0Pictures soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3\/2: Vine\u00a0&amp; Palette:\u00a0 <\/strong>It\u00a0still may be a bit early but we can think spring and put it on the canvas.\u00a0Think warmer sun on your face and spring flowers. Wassenberg\u00a0wine and paint\u00a0sessions are based off of original art from WAC artists. Unlike other programs\u00a0we encourage you to step out of the box to make your painting\u00a0unique. We still\u00a0make it easy but encourage your naturally occurring creative impulses to make\u00a0your work unique. $15 will provide you with a canvas and all materials plus a glass\u00a0of our house\u00a0wine. Additional glasses are available at regular WAC prices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3\/9: Talisman\u00a0Dream Catcher:<\/strong>\u00a0Art\u00a0is about self-expression. This won&#8217;t be a generic dream catcher. Dream catchers\u00a0were first made by Native Americans to\u00a0catch good dreams in the wind. Here&#8217;s\u00a0chance to make a dream catcher truly your own. Bring in mementos, broken\u00a0jewelry, buttons, feathers, scraps of cloth,\u00a0small photos&#8230; little things\u00a0sitting around in trays. (we will have items\u00a0on hand as well). $10 will get you the remaining materials\u00a0you need to make a\u00a0personal dream catcher and a glass of house wine. Additional glasses are available\u00a0at regular WAC prices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ArtReach: (ongoing)<\/strong>\u00a0(ages 7\u201311 and 12\u201315)\u00a0Ongoing:\u00a0Sign up whenever you want. We still have space available in\u00a0our popular ArtReach after school art program! Ages\u00a07-11 meet on Tuesdays and\u00a0ages 12 and up meet on Thursdays. Students receive a snack and then get down to\u00a0creating! Parents can drop off their youngsters\u00a0after school and pick them up\u00a0at 5 p.m. Studies show that children who receive more instruction in the arts\u00a0enjoy higher GPAs, higher SAT scores and a\u00a0dramatically lower drop out rate. A\u00a0good arts education can improve critical thinking and math skills. ArtReach instructor\u00a0Diane Bendele earned her bachelors\u00a0degree in art education from Bowling Green\u00a0State University and her Masters degree in education from Ohio State. As an art\u00a0educator for 35 years, she has\u00a0worked with students of all ages. Cost for the\u00a0program is charged monthly and is $40 for Wassenberg Art Center members and $45\u00a0for regular price during the\u00a0regular school year. Supplies are provided. All\u00a0holidays and cancellations will follow Van Wert City School schedules. An\u00a0online registration is also available on\u00a0our website. Need-based scholarships\u00a0are available.
