{"id":84323,"date":"2017-02-11T08:18:33","date_gmt":"2017-02-11T13:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=84323"},"modified":"2017-02-11T08:18:58","modified_gmt":"2017-02-11T13:18:58","slug":"grimm-back-as-ohio-loves-talent-emcee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/02\/11\/grimm-back-as-ohio-loves-talent-emcee\/","title":{"rendered":"Grimm back as Ohio Loves Talent! emcee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Retired Van Wert High School principal Wally Grimm is returning as emcee of \u201cOhio Has Talent!\u201d on Saturday, February 18, starting at 7 p.m. at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_84324\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-84324\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-84324\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Wally-Grimm-headshot-2-2017.jpg\" alt=\"Wally Grimm\" width=\"150\" height=\"263\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-84324\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Wally Grimm<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Grimm has had a love for the stage throughout his life, performing at Heidelberg University, Fremont Community Theatre, Actors Community Theatre, Van Wert Civic Theatre, Bowling Green State University, Fort Wayne Grand Wayne Center, and in various roles in Van Wert and his current home of Wapakoneta.<\/p>\n<p>His emcee roles have included the Miss Bowling Green Pageant, Sweet Adeline\u2019s Extravaganza of Indiana, several Peony Queen pageants, and numerous community events in various cities.<\/p>\n<p>Theatrically, Grimm has appeared as Hines in <em>The<\/em> <em>Pajama Game<\/em>, Henry Higgins in <em>My Fair Lady<\/em>, Fagin in <em>Oliver!<\/em>, Tevye in <em>Fiddler on the Roof<\/em>, the Chairman in <em>The<\/em> <em>Mystery of Edwin Drood<\/em>, and Harold Hill in <em>The Music Man<\/em>. He has directed productions of <em>Bye, Bye Birdie<\/em>, and <em>Gypsy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI so very much enjoy doing this show [Ohio Has Talent!] because the talent seems to get better each year &#8212; and could it go for a greater cause?\u201d Grimm said. \u201cAnd, I\u2019m looking forward to returning to that fabulous venue, which is the Niswonger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOhio Has Talent\u201d is an audience-voted competition held to raise funds for Community Health Professionals\u2019 (CHP) Hospice Patient Care Fund.
