Washington St. in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, the committee members is pleased to be in the heart of the activities in conjunction with the Peony Festival weekend. This \u201ccentral location\u201d exposed many visitors to the flower show and to the home of Wassenberg Art Center.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-48943\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Peony-flower-artwork-2-2014.jpg\" alt=\"Peony flower artwork 2-2014\" width=\"250\" height=\"185\" \/>The photo for this year\u2019s book cover will feature 2016\u2019s \u201cbest of show\u201d winner. Books will be printed and available for pick-up at Van Wert\u2019s Convention and Visitors Bureau or by contacting a committee member.<\/p>\n<p>Set-up date for the show will be June 2 at 1 p.m. Cleanup will begin at 4:15 p.m. on June 4. Entries will be accepted on June 3 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. All entries will be accepted at the east door of the building, where there is ample parking for dropping off flowers. Work tables will be available at the east door.<\/p>\n<p>Entries are open to the public. It is not required that those entering exhibits be Van Wert County residents or a member of a garden club. A flower show is an educational experience for both the exhibitor and the viewer.<\/p>\n<p>This is a juried show and judging will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Hours for viewing the flower displays:\u00a0 Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the Invitational this year is \u201cInterpretation of a Painting\u201d using principles and elements of a painting through a floral design incorporating fresh material. The painting chosen will be displayed on an easel with the arrangement. This division is open to Van Wert County garden clubs. Each entry will provide a card table for its design.<\/p>\n<p>Club members are to bring plants and garden related items for the sales table.
