The exemption provides a real estate reduction for people age 65 or older or those disabled. Those receiving the exemption must own and occupy their home as a principal place of residence as of January 1 of the year for which they are applying. A life estate is a qualified ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be made for Van Wert County residence through the County Auditor&#8217;s Office, Room 203 in the Court House.
