Scott Truxell\/Van Wert independent\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-87704\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Crestview&#8217;s Cora Millay races toward<\/strong> <strong>second base against Lincolnview.<\/strong> <em>Scott<\/em> <em>Truxell\/Van Wert independent<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Lady Knights led Lincolnview 4-0 after the first inning, and 9-0 after two, before scoring the game\u2019s final run in the bottom of the fifth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pleased with how our girls came out of the gate,\u201d Crestview head coach Carl Etzler said. \u201cI thought the key for us was to get the top (of the lineup) on base, then let the middle drive them in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall, from top to bottom we played really well tonight, and we seemed to make every hit count.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crestview (12-11) finished the game with 13 hits, including a first inning home run by Hannah Binnion that hit the top of the center field fence, then bounced over.<\/p>\n<p>Codi Miller paced the Lady Knights with three doubles, and Lexi Gregory had a triple.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Lancers were held to three hits in the game, including two by Lakin Brant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTonight we let our nerves get to us, and didn&#8217;t play our best,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Kyle Owens said.<\/p>\n<p>The loss ended Lincolnview\u2019s season at 7-10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe season as a whole was great, and we definitely saw a ton of improvement in the girls\u2019 swings and defense,\u201d Owens said.<\/p>\n<p>Box score<\/p>\n<p>Lincolnview 000 00 \u2013 0<br \/>\nCrestview \u00a0 \u00a0 450 01 \u2013 10<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SCOTT TRUXELL\/independent sports editor CONVOY \u2013 Crestview jumped out to an early lead, and cruised to a five inning 10-0 win over Lincolnview in Thursday\u2019s Division IV softball sectional championship game at Owen Pugh Field.
