All students are required to take exams, unless a course does not offer an exam or a student has been permission to exempt through the school Renaissance program.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-11411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Cougar-head-logo.jpg\" alt=\"Cougar head logo\" width=\"168\" height=\"147\" \/>Students who do not show up for exams will receive a zero on the exam and fail the entire course, even if their grade percentage is equivalent to a passing grade, since the student did not fulfill the course requirement to take an exam.<\/p>\n<p>The following schedule will be used for exams on both Thursday and Friday:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, May 18<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-9:20 a.m. \u2013 First exam session (first period classes).<\/li>\n<li>9:30-10:50 a.m. \u2013 Second exam session (second period classes).<\/li>\n<li>10:50-11:50 a.m. \u2013 Open lunch.<\/li>\n<li>11:50 a.m.-1:10 p.m. \u2013 Third exam session (third period classes).<\/li>\n<li>1:30-2:40 p.m. \u2013 Fourth exam session (fourth period classes).<\/li>\n<li>2:40-3:10 p.m. \u2013 Staff team time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 19<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-9:20 a.m. \u2013 Fifth exam session (fifth period classes).<\/li>\n<li>9:30-10:50 a.m. \u2013 Sixth exam session (sixth period classes).<\/li>\n<li>10:50-11:50 a.m. \u2013 Open lunch.<\/li>\n<li>11:50 a.m.-1:10 p.m. \u2013 Seventh exam session (seventh period classes).<\/li>\n<li>1:20-2:40 p.m. \u2013 Make-up testing, staff grading, and\/or meetings.<\/li>\n<li>2:40-3:10 p.m. \u2013 Staff team time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Submitted information Van Wert High School Principal Bob Priest has announced the school\u2019s final examination schedule for the 2016-17 school year.
