Dave Mosier\/Van Wert independent\" width=\"250\" height=\"313\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-88521\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Crestview honor student Tommi Andersen speaks during the school&#8217;s 57th annual commencement exercises on Saturday.<\/strong> <em>Dave Mosier\/Van Wert independent<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jeff Millay, pastor of Pleasant View Church, was the baccalaureate speaker, while Cora Millay, Caleb Bagley, and Tommi Andersen, top students of the Class of 2017, spoke during commencement exercises.<\/p>\n<p>All three student speakers provided reminiscences of the class\u2019s 13 years at Crestview, and also speculated on what may lie ahead for class members in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Other speakers included Class President Griffen Waltmire, Student Council President Ford Tatum, and Crestview Local Board of Education President John Auld.<\/p>\n<p>Outstanding senior awards were presented to Millay and Joel Germann.<\/p>\n<p>The high school choir, under the direction of Danille Hancock, sang \u201cI Plant You a Garden,\u201d while the band played the processional and recessional, as well as the school \u201cAlma Mater.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diplomas were presented to the 70 graduating seniors by Auld and fellow Crestview Local Board of Education members Lonnie Nedderman, Lori Bittner, Wes Skelton, and Andy Perrott.<\/p>\n<p>The class president then led classmates in tossing their mortarboards to close out commencement exercises.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_88522\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-88522\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-88522 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Crestview-graduation-5-28-17-Millay-diploma.jpg\" alt=\"Crestview senior Cora Millay receives her diploma from Board of Education Member Lori Bittner, while high school Principal Mike Biro (background left) and Superintendent Mike Estes look on.
