{"id":88682,"date":"2017-06-03T12:47:31","date_gmt":"2017-06-03T17:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=88682"},"modified":"2017-06-03T13:16:02","modified_gmt":"2017-06-03T18:16:02","slug":"3-injured-in-lincoln-highway-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/06\/03\/3-injured-in-lincoln-highway-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"3 injured in Lincoln Highway accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>DELPHOS &#8212;\u00a0Three people were hurt, one of them seriously, as a result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening near Delphos.\u00a0The Ohio State Highway Patrol\u2019s Van Wert Post is still investigating the crash, which occurred on Lincoln Highway, three miles west of Delphos.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"osplogo\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/>According to investigating troopers, Justin R. Wright, 20, of Van Wert, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck west on Lincoln Highway, just east of Converse Roselm Road in Washington Township, at about 7:54 p.m. Friday.<\/p>\n<p>As Wright negotiated a curve, he lost control and drove left of center into the path of a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Jennifer L. Harris, 45, of Middle Point, who was eastbound on Lincoln Highway. Mrs. Harris took evasive action, but was unable to avoid the Silverado.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Harris struck the right rear of the Silverado and the impact immediately stopped her vehicle.\u00a0Mr. Wright\u2019s Silverado continued into a yard and struck a tree, ejecting a passenger, Jake M. Stallkamp, 19, of Delphos.<\/p>\n<p>Stallkamp was not wearing his seat belt and received serious injuries when he was thrown from Wright\u2019s vehicle.\u00a0He was transported by Middle Point EMS squad to St. Rita\u2019s Medical Center in Lima, where he was listed in serious condition Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Wright was also not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries.\u00a0 He was treated on scene.\u00a0 Mrs. Harris was wearing her seat belt, but received minor injuries.
