{"id":93687,"date":"2017-09-30T08:40:33","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T13:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=93687"},"modified":"2017-09-30T08:40:33","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T13:40:33","slug":"van-county-seeking-election-poll-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/09\/30\/van-county-seeking-election-poll-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Van County seeking election poll workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Van Wert County Board of Elections is looking for people interested in serving as poll workers in Van Wert County.<\/p>\n<p>Being a poll worker is a great opportunity for registered voters who have the time to commit on Election Day.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way for students, part-time employees, retired citizens, and people with flexible schedules to serve their community.<\/p>\n<p>To be a poll worker in Van Wert County, people must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a registered voter in Van Wert County.<\/li>\n<li>Must not have been convicted of a felony (unless the conviction has been reversed, expunged or pardoned).<\/li>\n<li>Need to have transportation to and from the polls.<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be running as a candidate in the election one is working.<\/li>\n<li>Need to attend a training session.<\/li>\n<li>Need to work from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those who choose to work at the polls will receive training and be paid for their time.
