{"id":94590,"date":"2017-10-23T23:10:27","date_gmt":"2017-10-24T04:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=94590"},"modified":"2017-10-23T23:23:47","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T04:23:47","slug":"mary-catherine-jenkins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/10\/23\/mary-catherine-jenkins\/","title":{"rendered":"Mary Catherine Jenkins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Catherine Jenkins, 53, passed away at 9:53 a.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_94591\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-94591\" style=\"width: 275px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-94591 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Mary-Catherine-Jenkins-obit-photo-10-2017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"336\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-94591\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Mary Catherine Jenkins<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born November 6, 1963, in Van Wert, a daughter of Glen and Patricia (Hines) Jenkins.\u00a0Her father preceded her in death while her mother survives her in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>She is also survived by her sisters, Robin (Jeffrey) Shepard of Bethesda, Maryland, and Christie (Gary) McCarty of Lorton, Virginia.\u00a0Her brothers, Howard (Mary) Jenkins of Okeana and Patrick (Linda) Jenkins of Bethel; and six nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>She loved participating in activities at the Thomas Edison Center in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 26, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Stan Szybka officiating.\u00a0Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>There will be no visitation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preferred memorials: Thomas Edison Center.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements were handled by Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>Condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bricknerfuneralhome.com\">www.bricknerfuneralhome.com<\/a> or emailed to <a href=\"mailto:bricknerfuneralhome@bright.net\">bricknerfuneralhome@bright.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Catherine Jenkins, 53, passed away at 9:53 a.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
