{"id":94667,"date":"2017-10-26T07:19:53","date_gmt":"2017-10-26T12:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=94667"},"modified":"2017-10-26T07:19:53","modified_gmt":"2017-10-26T12:19:53","slug":"paulding-sheriff-seeking-info-on-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2017\/10\/26\/paulding-sheriff-seeking-info-on-assault\/","title":{"rendered":"Paulding sheriff seeking info on assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ANTWERP &#8212; At approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, deputies responded to an assault and attempted robbery at 3190 Road 204 in Carryall Township near Antwerp.<\/p>\n<p>When the homeowner pulled into his driveway, he noticed a dark colored, large SUV type vehicle parked near his outbuilding.\u00a0 As the homeowner approached his residence, he was attacked by two male subjects.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53457\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53457\" style=\"width: 175px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-53457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Paulding-Sheriff-Jason-Landers-7-2014.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"268\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-53457\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Sheriff Jason Landers<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The victim was struck with a shovel and a piece of metal, and the two suspects demanded money. During the struggle, the victim was able to run to a neighbor\u2019s house for help, while the suspects fled west in the SUV toward Indiana. The victim reported there was a third subject in the vehicle with long hair and a dark complexion.<\/p>\n<p>A physical description of the suspects is two young black males, one approximately 5-6 and skinny wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and the other approximately 5 feet tall, skinny and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The individual in the vehicle could not be identified as a male or female.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was transported by Antwerp EMS to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during the assault. He has since been released.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need the public\u2019s help to piece this violent crime together,\u201d said Sheriff Jason K. Landers. \u201cThese suspects committed a very serious act and didn\u2019t get away with anything more than a couple pieces of the victim\u2019s property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If anyone has information regarding this investigation or any other crime, contact the Sheriff\u2019s Office at 419.399.3791.
