This year, the celebration returns to the museum\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p>A new event has been added to the festivities this year: a Patriotic Bike Decorating Contest that is open to kids in eighth grade or younger, with prizes to be awarded. The bikes will be judged on originality, creativity, patriotic theme or historical significance and overall appearance. Flags, streamers, red, white and blue, face and hand paintings or costumes are encouraged. Judging will take place at 1:30 p.m. July 4 near the museum\u2019s caboose. Entries will parade on East Third Street next to the Historical Society campus.<\/p>\n<p>Those wanting to participate may register by emailing the Van Wert County Historical Society at <a href=\"mailto:vwc.historicalsociety@gmail.com\">vwc.historicalsociety@gmail.com<\/a>.
