Alek Bowersock came off the bench to hit five of Lincolnview\u2019s 11 triples, and the Lancers enjoyed runs of 12-0 and 14-0 in the second and third quarters respectively.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_96629\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-96629\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-96629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Brett-Hammons.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"213\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-96629\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Brett Hammons<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI felt it gave our kids confidence in what we can do against teams that are bigger,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Brett Hammons said of Saturday\u2019s win over the Raiders. \u201cWe are going to have to build on it because almost every team we play is bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Through five games, senior guards Chayten Overholt and Caden Ringwald have accounted for nearly 60 percent of Lincolnview\u2019s scoring. Overholt is averaging 15.2 points per game, while Ringwald is averaging 14.8 points.<\/p>\n<p>As a team, the Lancers are averaging 52.4 points per contest, while giving up just 42.8 points per game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like the way we are playing defense,\u201d Hammons said. \u201cThey have made things difficult for opponents the majority of the time. I feel we are getting a toughness to us on that end of the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers have a number of players that saw court time last year \u2013 Ringwald, Overholt, Ethan Kemler (who just returned from an offseason shoulder injury), Tristin Miller, Isiac Bowersock and Zane Miller, and Hammons said he\u2019s pleased with the group, along with the play of Logan Williams, Jorge Salinas, Alek Bowersock, Kyle Wallis and Ethan Parsons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe growth we have had throughout our team has been a pleasant surprise,\u201d Hammons explained. \u201cGuys are making plays on both ends that they didn\u2019t make last year, or even in scrimmages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers will play at conference foe Columbus Grove (2-4, 0-1 NWC) on Friday, then will return home for Fort Jennings (2-3) on Saturday.<br \/>\nDespite their records, Hammons has concerns about both of this weekend\u2019s opponents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will get out and pressure us,\u201d Hammons said. \u201cThey both have size, speed, and can shoot it well from outside.
