Participating businesses will be open for this special event from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, or $25 for a pair, and must be purchased or reserved in advance beginning Thursday, January 18.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83385\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83385\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83385\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Chocolate-Walk-bags-1-2017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"197\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83385\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Chocolate Walk bags for the 2017 edition of the event.<\/strong> <em>(MSVW photo)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The evening of the event, \u201cchocolate walkers\u201d will begin at the MSVW office to pick up a special Chocolate Bag sponsored by Stephanie Dawn, a chocolate treat from DeBrand Fine Chocolates, and a map of the downtown stops. Then relax and savor the evening while strolling at one\u2019s leisure through the participating businesses downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride up and down Main Street from Town &amp; Country Carriage Service that is sponsored by Central Soft Water and Purmort Brothers Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>Participants should show the event bag at each Chocolate Stop on the map to sample or collect nearly 20 chocolate treats. The evening will conclude at Wassenberg Art Center to enjoy the Van Wert Represents! art display, homemade soups with bread, and chocolate and wine pairings. Weston Thompson will be playing live music on the baby grand.<\/p>\n<p>A full list of participating businesses will be announced a week before the event. Ticket holders will visit businesses they are familiar with and learn about ones they may not know. What a fun way to visit someplace new or get reacquainted with the stores and offices downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Grab friends or invite someone special and enjoy this excursion through downtown Van Wert. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased in person at the MSVW office, 136 E. Main St.; Collins Fine Foods, 223 N. Washington St., and Truly D\u2019Vine, 117 W.
