Verville, who was nominated by athletic director Craig Hershey, placed first or second in four different events in a win over Ayersville on Tuesday night. Verville, a two sport athlete, also played tennis for the Cougars. Coaches and athletic directors may nominate student athletes for the weekly award by e-mailing <a href=\"mailto:sports@thevwindependent.com\">sports@thevwindependent.com<\/a>.
