The 6-7 junior was nominated by head coach Jeremy Best. \u201cJavin is a young man that is getting the job done in the classroom and on the basketball court,\u201d Best said. \u201cHis maturation process as a student-athlete is to be recognized. He is averaging 14 points per game and seven rebounds per game and is playing efficient basketball at both ends of the floor and making his teammates better.\u201d Coaches and athletic directors may nominate student athletes for the weekly award by e-mailing <a href=\"mailto:sports@thevwindependent.com\">sports@thevwindependent.com<\/a>.
