{"id":98643,"date":"2018-02-12T22:06:13","date_gmt":"2018-02-13T03:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=98643"},"modified":"2018-02-12T22:08:45","modified_gmt":"2018-02-13T03:08:45","slug":"frances-pauline-brown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/02\/12\/frances-pauline-brown\/","title":{"rendered":"Frances &#8216;Pauline&#8217; Brown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Frances \u201cPauline\u201d Brown, 97, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Maplewood of Shane Hill nursing home in Rockford.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_98645\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-98645\" style=\"width: 275px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-98645\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Francs-Brown-obit-photo-2-2018.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"411\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-98645\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Frances &#8216;Pauline&#8217; Brown<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born January 25, 1921, in Georgia, the daughter of John Osborn and Alma\u00a0Terue\u00a0Daniel, who both preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L Brown, on May 21, 2006, whom she married February 5, 1944; her brothers, Oscar Daniel and Raymond Daniel; and her sisters, Ruby Milton and Martha\u00a0VanHook.<\/p>\n<p>Frances is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Darla and Chris Bennett of\u00a0Martinsville, Virginia, and Sharon and Jack\u00a0Henkaline of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Christy (Daren) Hall, Ronnie (Angie) Bennett, Teresa (Alan)\u00a0Prillaman, and Chris (Laura)\u00a0Henkaline; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, James (Carolyn) Daniel and John (Barbara Ann) Daniel; and two sisters, Lenora (Denver) Harter and Georgia (Bill) Grumbles.<\/p>\n<p>Frances was a graduate of\u00a0Pelzer\u00a0(Georgia) High School. She loved teaching Sunday school class at the Church of the Brethren and United Methodist Church in\u00a0Rossburg. In her later years, she attended both Calvary Evangelical Church and LifeHouse Church in Van Wert before retiring to Assisted Living in Rockford. She also was a 4-H leader in\u00a0Darke\u00a0County for many years. She loved sewing, gardening, her family, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Celebration of Life service will be held at\u00a011 a.m.\u00a0 Wednesday, February 14, at the Tribute Funeral Homes Greenville campus, with Pastors Chris Bennett and Chris\u00a0Henkaline\u00a0officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Family and friends may visit Wednesday from\u00a010 a.m. until the time of the services\u00a0at the funeral home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Van Wert County Visiting Nurses Association, 1159 Westwood Drive, Van Wert, OH 45891.<\/p>\n<p>Condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tributefuneralhomes.com\/\">www.tributefuneralhomes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frances \u201cPauline\u201d Brown, 97, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Maplewood of Shane Hill nursing home in Rockford.
