The Lincolnview Lancers looked solid in all phases of the game during a convincing 55-39 homecoming win over Arlington on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Lancers (14-7) and it snapped Arlington\u2019s (13-8) five game winning streak.<\/p>\n

Lincolnview broke a 3-3 first quarter tie with eight unanswered points. Tristin Miller hit a trey, followed by a bucket by Zane Miller and a triple by Chayten Overholt. Arlington\u2019s Ivan Berry ended the run with a basket and a foul shot, but (Zane) Miller and Ethan Kemler each responded with a basket to extend the lead to 15-6.<\/p>\n

The Lancers opened second quarter scoring with a bucket by Isiac Bowersock, but Caleb Price answered with a triple to make it 17-12. After a Caden Ringwald layup, the Red Devils trimmed the deficit to 19-16 on a basket by Ryan Metzger and two free throws by Berry. From there, Alek Bowersock countered with a two and a three, then (Isiac) Bowersock closed the quarter with back-to-back baskets to give the Lancers a 28-18 halftime advantage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the best games he (Isiac Bowersock) has given us in a while,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Brett Hammons said. \u201cHe gives us a spark and he\u2019s the strongest kid we have. He rebounded well for us and did a fantastic job for us tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arlington drew within six (32-26) in the third quarter, but the Lancers went on a 9-0 run, with Overholt connecting from the floor, (Tristin) Miller getting a steal and layup, Ringwald draining a trey and Overholt sinking two foul shots to stretch the Lincolnview lead to 41-26.<\/p>\n

\u201cArlington had length on us, they had some size, they had some athleticism on us in certain areas and I thought we handled it well,\u201d Hammons added.<\/p>\n

The Lancers enjoyed a 41-31 lead to start the final period, but a 9-2 run by the Red Devils made it a 45-39 game with 5:15 left, but the Lancers accounted for the final 10 points of the game. Kemler then scored on a hook shot, followed by consecutive treys by Ringwald and (Zane) Miller, then back-to-back baskets by Overholt, who finished with a game high 15 points. Ringwald finished with 10 and (Zane) Miller had nine.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it makes it difficult to guard us,\u201d Hammons said of his team\u2019s balance. \u201cIf someone\u2019s having an off night someone else is stepping up and I think we\u2019re being more consistent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lincolnview will finish the regular season at home against Lima Perry (13-7) on Friday night.<\/p>\n
