It was raining treys at Lincolnview High School on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The Lancers poured in 16 triples on the way to an 84-70 non-conference win over the visiting Perry Commodores on Senior Night. Lincolnview finished the regular season 15-7 and 7-1 in the Northwest Conference, good for second place. The victory snapped Perry\u2019s eight game winning streak.<\/p>\n

Neither team scored during the first 2:15 of the game, then Tristin Miller opened the scoring with a trey and the Lancers were off and running. Miller hit two more three pointers in the quarter and Chayten Overholt and Alek Bowersock each added treys, as Lincolnview opened up a 19-7 lead with 90 seconds left in the period.<\/p>\n

Caden Ringwald and Zane Miller opened the second quarter with consecutive triples to give Lincolnview a 25-12 advantage. After a bucket by Perry\u2019s Logan Dray, (Zane) Miller had an offensive rebound and basket that stretched Lincolnview\u2019s lead to 27-14, then a short time later (Tristin) Miller drained his fourth trey of the half to give the Lancers a 32-17 lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we played with confidence,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Brett Hammons said. \u201cPerry made it and up and down game and I thought we handled their pressure on and off at times for the most part, and we were able to get open looks and tonight we knocked them down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Commodores fought back with a 16-6 run to end the half, with Jamal Whiteside accounting for seven of those points to trim the deficit to 38-33.<\/p>\n

Whiteside scored the first basket of the third quarter to pull Perry to within three, but (Tristin) Miller quickly responded with a three pointer to push Lincolnview\u2019s lead to 41-35. Malique Cooper scored for the Commodores but Lincolnview answered with baskets by Ethan Kemler and Isiac Bowersock to extend the advantage to 45-37 with 3:25 left in the period.<\/p>\n

After an offensive rebound and basket by Bradley Walker, the Lancers went on an 11-2 run to close the period. Ringwald and (Alek) Bowersock hit treys from the left corner, (Tristin) Miller connected from the floor then (Zane) Miller drained a three from the right corner with less than a second left to give Lincolnview a 56-41 lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe weathered the storm,\u201d Hammons said. \u201cWe switched our defenses up. They were giving us some problems by attacking the basket and staying in front of us, so we switched to a zone and I thought we did a good job keeping them out of the paint.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two teams combined for 57 points in the final period. The Lancers opened with a 20-8 run, with all eight of Perry\u2019s points coming from Dray, while (Tristin) Miller scored nine of Lincolnview\u2019s points. Miller finished with 21 points, while (Zane) Miller had 25. Ringwald cracked double figures with 17 and Overholt finished with 10. Ethan Parsons scored Lincolnview\u2019s final two point field goal of the game.<\/p>\n

Hammons gave praise to his five seniors \u2013 Ringwald, Overholt, (Tristin) Miller, (Isiac) Bowersock and Parsons.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have five great seniors,\u201d Hammons said. \u201cTristin got it going with the first three of the game to give us the lead and it seemed like everyone else followed. It\u2019s good to see all five seniors score.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lancers will begin Division IV sectional tournament action Tuesday night against Continental (1-21). The game will tip off at 6:15 p.m. at Paulding High School. The two teams squared off December 9, with Lincolnview winning 46-36.<\/p>\n

\u201cContinental\u2019s going to give us a challenge,\u201d Hammons explained. \u201cThey have some guys that can score and they\u2019re giving every team a battle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lincolnview won the junior varsity contest 44-35 and finished the season 20-2 (8-0 NWC).<\/p>\n
