{"id":99287,"date":"2018-02-28T08:41:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T13:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=99287"},"modified":"2018-02-28T08:41:57","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T13:41:57","slug":"county-aggregation-program-participants-do-nothing-to-remain-in-power-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/02\/28\/county-aggregation-program-participants-do-nothing-to-remain-in-power-program\/","title":{"rendered":"County aggregation program participants: Do nothing to remain in electric program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Because of some confusion concerning Van Wert County\u2019s Residential Electric Aggregation program, the Van Wert County Board of Commissioners has issued a news release on the program.<\/p>\n<p>Those enrolled in the county electric aggregation program are reminded that, if they want to continue in the cost-saving program, it will happen automatically beginning this Thursday, March 1.<\/p>\n<p>Residents do not have to agree to anything with the new provider, AEP Energy Inc., or the former provider, FirstEnergy Solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program was put out to bid last year and AEP Energy Inc. had the best offer for the county\u2019s residents,\u201d said County Commissioner Thad Lichtensteiger.<\/p>\n<p>The new agreement lasts through March 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been hearing from many residents who are getting letters and calls that are confusing to them,\u201d he added. \u201cWe want to reiterate that residents who want to stay in the aggregation program do not need to do anything.
