(photo submitted)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Van Wert Twisters came about from the overabundance of college players wanting to play for the nearby Decatur (Ind.) Dirty Birds.\u00a0 Placing a team in Van Wert benefits such players in the surrounding area by offering a closer place to play.<\/p>\n<p>The Twisters\u2019 inaugural year started out on a shaky footing, but the team is starting to turn the corner with a few wins under its belt. The Twisters now stand at 4-9 overall and 4-6 in league play. With the league being a wood bat league, it has taken some time for the players to get accustomed to hitting with the wood bats.<\/p>\n<p>Twisters pitcher Josh Miller, a Delphos native, has a 2-0 record for the team.
