Of track teams and dairy farms

An amazing performance was turned in by Lincolnview’s junior high boys’ and girls’ track teams on May 2. The boys placied first in the quad meet against Delphos Jefferson, Delphos St. John’s, and Parkway.  Jefferson was second with66 ½ points and Lincolnview scored 78 points. The girls were just 9 ½ points shy of first place, scoring 48 ½ points as a team, while Parkway was first with 58 points.  This is even more of an accomplishment when you consider that our junior high girls only have 11 competitors.

Highlights of the meet for the girls:

Anna Gorman – 3^rd in 400 meter dash – 1:09

Ashton Bowersock – 3^rd in 800 meter run – 2:49

Hannah McCleery – 2^nd in mile – 6:06; 1^st in high jump

Congratulations to Hannah as well for clearing 4’10” at last Friday’s meet which is a new PR, new junior high record, and tied the meet record!

Claire Clay – 2^nd in 100 meter hurdles – 18.6

2^nd in 200 meter hurdles – 36.78

Anna Gorman – 1^st place in the 200 meter hurdles – 36.04

Grace Gorman – 5^th in 100 meter hurdles – 19.9

4×100 relay – Gorman, Clay, Schroeder, Bigham – 1:01.2 – 3^rd place

4×400 – Bowersock, G Gorman, A Gorman, McCleery – 5:03 – 2^nd place

Brooke Schroeder – 2^nd in pole vault – 5’; 3^rd in shot put – 26’7”

Marcy Shoppell –  5^th in shot put – 24’3”; 4^th in the discus – 59’8”

Tiffiny West – 5^th in discus – 55’1”

Hunter Blankemeyer – 2nd in pole vault – 7’; 1^st in 110 hurdles – 19.02

Baylee Tow – 1^st place in mile – 5:02.9; 1^st place 800 run – 2:18

Jacob Pollock – 1^st in Shot put – 38’4 ¼”; 2^nd in Discus – 106’2”

Justis Dowdy – 4^th in Shot put – 35’6”; 4^th in Discus – 101’5”

Austin Beard – 5^th in shot put – 34’2”

Jarrett Dye – 6^th in shot – 33’4”

Alex Rodriguez was 4^th in the mile – 5:42; 3^rd in pole vault – 6’6”

4×100 – Diller, Norton, McMaster, Jewel – 3^rd place – 53.5

4×200 – Schmersal, McMaster, Cowling, Norton – 2^nd place – 1:59

4×400 – Rodriguez, Norton, Byrne, Tow – 3^rd place – 4:41

The last performance for the season is this Friday, May 6^th at Spencerville for the NWC meet.

The Kindergarten Farm Field Trip was held on Friday April 29th.  The children visited area farms around the community.  The kids enjoyed seeing various animals including sheep, a llama, dairy cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and horses.
