Owens awarded CPCU designation
Central Insurance Companies’ employee Travis Owens has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. This is a professional credential recognized throughout the risk management and insurance business.

He has completed a rigorous eight-course program of academic, ethical, and experience requirements.
Owens, a 2004 graduate of Crestview High School, began his career with Central Insurance Companies in June 2008, after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University. He began working in the Home Office in Van Wert for the Commercial Underwriting Department. One year later, Owens transferred to the Irving, Texas, branch office where he continues to work as a commercial underwriter.
He currently resides in Las Colinas, Texas, where he participates in his local church and in the Young Professionals Group, which is sponsored by one of Central’s reinsurance carriers. Owens also enjoys golfing, hunting, sporting clays, and fishing.
The American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 1942 to establish a program of professional education and certification for those employed in the property and casualty insurance business.
