Van Wert Police

August 20, 10:15 a.m. — A resident of the 200 block of North Franklin Street reported that someone threw a brick at her detached garage, damaging the vinyl siding on the structure. A decorative sign outside the garage was also taken.

August 19, 7:21 p.m. — A resident of the 500 block of North Cherry Street reported that someone stole jewelry, a Fuji digital camera and two cell phones from her home. The items were valued at approximately $1,500.

August 19, 2:09 p.m. — An employee of GKN Freight Services, 1180 Kear Road, reported the theft of scrap metal from the company.
