Monday, November 20 – arrested Shawn Michael Thomas on an outstanding warrant from Henry County Common Pleas Court. The arrest was made in the 1000 block of Oak Lane.

6:48 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Franklin Street in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.

7:09 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on Westwood Drive in the City of VanWert for a subject who had fallen.

7:21 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on VanWert Decatur Road in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.

7:53 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Boyd Avenue in the City of Van Wert for a subject with abdominal pain.

8:44 a.m. – A male subject arrived at the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office. The subject was very loud and made very little sense. Deputies at the office began to investigate to see what he needed. He was very jittery, paranoid, and had enlarged pupils. The subject had driven himself to the office. After further investigation and tests it was found that the subject had been driving while under the influence. Austin Lee Krick, 28, of Elizabeth Street in Convoy was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility on a first degree misdemeanor charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

11:14 a.m. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a location on Jennings Road in Ridge Township for a subject who had passed out.

11:33 a.m. – Deputies responded to an area of Liberty Union Road in Pleasant Township on a complaint of trespassing.

11:46 a.m. – Deputies responded to a residence on Pancake Road in Harrison Township to assist with an unruly juvenile.

11:55 a.m. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on South Street in the Village of Willshire for a subject with chest pain.

2:13 p.m. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. 30 in Tully Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A 2012 GMC Sierra driven by Natalie Bradtmueller of Payne was southbound on Ohio 49, approaching the intersection of U.S. 30. After stopping at the stop sign, she crossed the westbound lane of U.S. 30 and failed to see a 2018 Peterbilt driven by Tyrus Coyan of Jackson. Her vehicle struck the passenger side of the trailer. No injuries were reported.

3:38 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence on Bebb Street in the Village of Venedocia for a report of a violation of protection order.

3:52 p.m. – Deputies responded to an area of Mentzer Church road in Tully Township to investigate a report of a damaged corn field.

4:01 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence on Sunrise Court in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

4:10 p.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Burt Street in the City of Van Wert for a subject having a lot of pain.

Tuesday November 21, 2023

3:09 a.m. – Deputies responded to a residence on Kneller Road in Liberty Township for a report of a domestic dispute.

5:30 a.m. – Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a deer on U.S. 224 in Harrison Township. No injuries were reported.

9:00 a.m. – Deputies along with Van Wert Fire responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash on the ramp to U.S. 30 westbound from U.S. 127. A 2003 GMC Savanna driven by William Stanley of Cincinnati accelerated and started fish tailing, then flipped onto the passenger side of the vehicle. Stanley was unable to free himself and was hanging from his seatbelt. Once freed of the seatbelt, he claimed no injury and was not transported. His van was towed from the scene. Van Wert Police, ODOT, and Van Wert County EMA assisted at the scene.

9:18 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on Van Wert Decatur Road in the City of Van Wert for a subject believed to be having mini strokes.

9:28 a.m. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a location on Middle Point Road in Ridge Township for a subject who may have taken too much Ibuprofen.

12:38 p.m. – Deputies responded to a location on Shannon Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1:50 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence on Main Street in the Village of Convoy on a complaint of fraud.

2:15 p.m. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on Towne Center Boulevard in the City of Van Wert for a subject who fell.

3:40 p.m. – Deputies along with Ohio City EMS responded to a residence on Carmean Street in the Village of Ohio City on a report of domestic violence. EMS transported two juveniles and one adult to Van Wert Health for medical treatment. Jeremy Thomas Paige was arrested and transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility. Paige is charged with three counts of third degree felony domestic violence.

7:53 p.m. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS and Van Wert EMS, and Deputies to a residence on Knittle Road in Ridge Township for a subject reported as not breathing.

8:44 p.m. – Deputies responded to an area of Mentzer Church Road in Tully Township for a report of a semitruck stuck in a field. The vehicle had to be towed from the field.

Sunday, November 12 – arrested Emmett L. Waltz III for strangulation and domestic violence, both third degree felonies, after receiving a report of domestic violence in the 500 block of E. Main St.

Sunday, November 12 – criminal damaging was reported in the 900 block of Kiger St.

Monday, November 13 – a disorderly conduct incident occurred in the 600 block of Franklin St.

Monday, November 13 – a report was made in reference to counterfeit money being passed at the Orchard Tree restaurant.

Monday, November 13 – Van Wert Police were called to the Van Wert School at the Goedde for a student in possession of marijuana paraphernalia. The juvenile was charged in this incident.

Monday, November 13 – a criminal trespass report was taken in the 200 block of Market St.

Monday, November 13 – responded to the 700 block of Perry St. for a distraught male.

Tuesday, November 14 – several noise complaints were called in for the 200 block of Sibley St. within a short time. After issuing a warning and after another complaint, Tyran Jemison was charged with disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, November 14 – following a suspicious person call at Pak-A-Sak North, Dustin W. Kehmkuhle was arrested on two outstanding failure to appear warrants.

Tuesday, November 14 – the theft of car keys was reported in the 900 block of Kiger St.

Tuesday, November 14 – a possible dog bite was reported in the 500 block of E. Central Ave.

Tuesday, November 14 – issued a summons to Larry W. Wilson for possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday, November 14 – arrested a 14-year-old for domestic violence after an incident in the 100 block of E. Maple Ave.
