Drive it and food drive

Drive 4 UR School this Saturday, October 1st from 9am - 3pm at Lincolnview High School.

Mrs. Dowdy challenged her math classes to work together to line the perimeter of her room with items to donate to the United Way Day of Caring.  The students not only lined her room once, but went above and beyond the challenge to line her room 2 1/2 times.  Overall, the students brought in more than 500 items including diapers, boxed and canned goods, toilet paper, toothbrushes, and soap.  The classes felt very good about being able to help their community in such a big way.  This is the biggest number of items ever donated from Mrs. Dowdy’s room challenge and, as one student pointed out, “It came at one of the biggest times of need.”

Lincolnview Elementary United Way Food Drive Held last Week

Not only did Mrs. Dowdy’s class go above and beyond, we also would like to recognize the entire Lincolnview Jr. /Sr. High for collecting 949 items for the food drive. Way to go Lincolnview students!

And because we understand that many people are facing challenges with today’s current economic situation, we, at Lincolnview, want to do our part to help those in our community that could use a helping hand. The High School Beta Club will be conducting a clothing exchange during the PTO Conferences, November 21 and November 22. Any member of our community who would like to donate USED/NEW, GOOD, CLEAN CLOTHES and COATS WITH NO STAINS, HOLES, RIPS OR TEARS can drop them off at the school starting Monday, October 3 through Friday, November 18. We will take infant – adult sizes. You can drop them off at the high school or elementary office.

Any member of the community who could use a hand with clothes can pick up items during Parent Teacher conference hours. EVERYTHING WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE and NO QUESTIONS ASKED. We will have the clothing items in the elementary side of the cafeteria. We will have signs directing you to the room where the clothes will be divided into gender and size. No children will be let in without an adult.

We will have BETA CLUB members helping with bags and assistance to you cars if needed. We will send out a reminder as time draws closer. If you have any questions, you can contact Brenda Leeth at 419.968.2214, ext. 3210. Any clothing items left over will be taken to local agencies like Goodwill and Salvation Army.
