Greenhand Team placed first. The Beginners Team went to the district contest on December 1 in Upper Sandusky.
The kitchen staff showed off their creativity and their holiday spirit when they decided to decorate a Christmas tree for the commons area this year. We are calling it our “Green Tree”. All of the decorations placed on the tree can be recycled or are items from the kitchen. The garland is made with recycled plastic milk bottles, which are recycled everyday from the students’ lunches. Some other items used were tin cans, paper boats, plastic bread wrappers, plastic straws, tin foil, and snowmen made out of paper and plastic soufflé cups. The paper and plastic soufflé cups were made by Mary Katalenas, who was not present for the photo. The tree topper is a bobble head lunch lady, which will be kept for future trees. The kitchen staff had a lot of fun adding items to the tree and the students have really enjoyed looking at all the different items used on the tree.
