Delphos Police
December 16, 1 p.m. — Two people were cited for a number of charges stemming from a rear-end collision at the intersection of Main and First streets in Delphos. Officers were called to the accident and learned that a man was driving the vehicle allegedly responsible for the crash. However, that person, Phillip Cross, 23, of Delphos, had reportedly fled from the scene on foot. His girlfriend, Tiffany L. Bowers, 21, also of Delphos, initially said she did not know the person driving her car, but later admitted it was Cross. Police then went to Cross’ residence, but he ran from the rear of the house and eluded the officers’ search. He remains at large on charges of driving under suspension, failure to stop after an accident, failure to maintain a clear distance ahead and obstructing official business. Bowers was arrested on one count of obstructing official business. In addition to the accident-related charges, Cross was expected to have arrest warrants issued for probation violation.
December 17, 12:17 a.m. — A Delphos man was arrested on several charges stemming from accidents in the 600 block of Harmon Street. Jeremy L. Stemen, 28, was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) and failure to maintain reasonable control over a motor vehicle in connection with two hit-skip accidents at the above location. The SUV was impounded, as the OVI citation was the second in the past six years.
