Van Wert Police

September 12, 9:33 p.m.– Jeremy C. Dunbar, 16, and Tyler L. Kast, 21, both of 602 N. Race St., were each charged with theft for an alleged shoplifting incident at the local Walmart Supercenter, 301 Towne Center Blvd.

September 12, 9:14 p.m. — Anthony W. Clayton, 48, of Spencerville, was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) as a result of a traffic stop near the intersection of Walnut and Sycamore streets.

September 11, 3:09 a.m. — Kareem Howard, 38, of 1014 Woodland Ave., was charged with domestic violence as a result of an incident that occurred in the 300 block of East Third Street.

September 9, 5:01 p.m. — Peter B. Simpson, 22, of 635 Center St., was arrested on a warrant issued in Mercer County while in the 100 block of Balyeat Avenue. He was also cited for obstructing official business for refusing to cooperate with officers.

September 8, 8:18 p.m. — James L. Leiendecker, 24, of Venedocia, was charged with possession of marijuana while at Van Wert Reservoir No. 1.

September 8, 3:51 a.m. — Eric D. Bowers, 27, of 11268 Dull Robinson Road, was charged with disorderly conduct after he was found lying in the middle of the roadway on Woodland Avenue.
