Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month? At Lincolnview, the high school speech class is currently running a fundraiser called “War against Cancer”. The fundraiser will run through Oct. 4, with an assembly concluding the events Friday afternoon. WAC is a fundraiser to collect money to support finding a cure for cancer.

We have been asking students to bring in their loose change, to be put into a container in their classroom. At the end of the week all the money that has been collected will be donated to the American Cancer Society of Northwest Ohio. All donations will be used in the Van Wert area. The class that brings in the most money will be rewarded at the end of the week. There are also pink slips available for students to write the name of someone that they know who has battled cancer. The slips will then be made into a chain by combining them all together and displayed in the school.

Attention Veterans – save the date. Lincolnview’s Veterans’ Day Celebration and Memorial program will be held Nov. 8 at approximately 1:30 p.m. More detailed information will be sent home with the children in mid-October so parents should watch for it.
