On behalf of Lincolnview Schools, I would like to take this time to thank our students, staff, and community members for helping to make our 2013 Veterans’ Day Program a success.  I was extremely honored to have 94 veterans present for our program.  I am very proud of each and every person who either brought a veteran with them, submitted a name of a veteran who could not attend, or submitted a name to be paid tribute to in our memorial portion.  I would also like to thank Colleen Wiley and the Ladies Auxiliary for sponsoring refreshments for our veterans and their families after the program.   Lincolnview is very proud of all veterans and grateful for the service they gave to our country.   Our veterans are treasures, so make certain you thank a veteran not only on Veterans’ Day… but all year long. Thank you again to the entire Lincolnview Community from Stephanie Renner, Program Coordinator.

This past weekend was the Lancer 5K Glo- Run. This is the event’s third year and continues to grow. This year a 1 mile Fun Run was added. All participants, either for the 5K or the Fun Run, received a medal for coming out and trying the best! Area businesses were very generous in donating a variety of things that was used as door prizes. The Lincolnview Student Council would like to extend a huge thank you to Wendy’s, Dairy Queen, Arby’s, Pizza Hut, Mary’s A & W Restaurant, Taco Bell and Subway which all donated coupons for free items at their respective establishments. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Fast Fun Fitness, the Wellness Center, Family Video, Everybody’s Massage, Van Wert Massotherapy and Northwest Ohio & Welch Trophy for donating services to various door prize winners. This is the main fundraiser for Lincolnview’s Student Council.  All the proceeds will be used during the Homecoming celebration in February. Thank you again to all who were able to support this event.

In the third grade science class, Delayna, Dane and Dalton are observing changes in plants. They will compare their findings with other groups to determine what things plants need to grow. This will be accomplished through daily observations and recording of information onto group charts. Such activities allow students to develop process skills of comparison, observation, and recording. (Photo submitted.)
