Lincolnview sophomores Madison Jones and Marcy Shoppell were recently awarded honors by the nation’s longest running and prestigious recognition program for students in grades 7- 12, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Their work was judged regionally in competition with students from 52 counties in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

After winning a Gold Key last year, Marcy has earned honors in the competition for the second year in a row taking the Silver Key for her work. Madison entered her first work this year and was one of the 8 percent of students who earned a Gold Key. Her work will go on to national judging in New York City.

Lincolnview Elementary will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on Monday, March 3, for NEA’s Read Across America. The theme this year is “Hats off to Reading”. Students are encouraged to wear hats on Monday to celebrate. There will also be special activities throughout the day.
