VW Federal earns financial recognition

Van Wert Federal Savings Bank was recently notified that it had earned recognition as a “Best of Bauer” bank.

Bauer Financial recognizes banks that have excelled in the areas of capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality, and other financial areas with a five star rating. Van Wert Federal Savings Bank is the only area bank to have received this recognition for 110 consecutive quarters, since Bauer Financial started awarding financial institutions with their 5 star rating.

While other banks have received a Bauer Financial 5-star rating, only 52 of the 6,232 banks in the United States have achieved the “Best of Bauer” status for having a 5-star rating for 27 years.

“The fact that Van Wert Federal Savings Bank received this recognition of strength and stability, while contributing over 10 percent of its earnings to the different organizations and groups within the Van Wert community, is very rewarding,” said Van Wert Federal President/CEO Gary Clay.

Van Wert Federal Savings has been serving the Van Wert community since 1889 and is located at 976 S. Shannon St. in Van Wert.
