Van Wert Police

August 12, 4:51 p.m. — A resident of the 100 block of Logan Street reported that someone stole a Makarov 9mm handgun, silver colored with a black handle, and a 14k gold chain with a 10k gold “M” charm from his residence.

August 12, 4:38 p.m. — Kyle T. Sterrett, 31, of 520 Woodland Ave., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after he was found, allegedly intoxicated, wandering around the Van Wert Wastewater Treatment Plant on North Washington Street. Sterrett was also reportedly involved in an earlier report of a person falling into Town Creek at the Center Street Bridge.

August 14, 11:27 a.m. — The theft of an air-conditioner was reported by a resident in the 500 block of South Tyler Street.

August 14, 4:16 a.m. — Robert A. Vibbert, 27, of Convoy, was cited for an open container violation while in the 600 block of West Main Street.

August 15, 10:50 a.m. — The manager of Rural King, 811 Fox Road, reported that someone stole two trailers worth a total of approximately $2,400 from the business.
