Renner named First Fed president/CEO

The Board of Directors of First Federal Savings and Loan Association has announced the promotion of Brian Renner to president and chief executive officer, effective September 1. Renner replaces Mike Cross, who announced his retirement in July after 47 years in the banking business.

Renner began his career in August 1994 and has previously held the positions of bookkeeper, staff accountant, controller and chief financial officer.

Renner is a graduate of Lincolnview High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bluffton College. He has also attended several banking classes and seminars and is a graduate of the Academy of Financial Executives, and Fisher College of Business of Ohio State University.

Renner has also been very active in the community, serving as a member of Van Wert Sertoma Club, Van Wert Service Club and Guild Inc.  He served as treasurer and a board member of United Way of Van Wert County and is a graduate of the leadership program sponsored by the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce. Renner is a member of the Middle Point Ballpark Association Board and also serves as youth sports coach.

He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Carter and Emerson, and they reside in Van Wert.
