Halloween activities scheduled

Some first grade Lincolnview Elementary Students say goodbye to the class butterfly by releasing it outdoors. After watching the butterfly's life cycle, they got to see it fly away. (Photo submitted.)

The Lincolnview Student Council will be sponsoring Halloween activities next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The student body will be encouraged to dress as follows: Monday in their favorite sports attire; Tuesday as mismatched as possible (“Fashion Disaster” Day) and finally Wednesday students will be encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes with a costume judging contest held during both the junior high and High school lunch time (when they have about 15 minutes left in their lunch). In the past the costume judging had been held first thing in the morning, but with more and more of our upperclassmen involved in post-secondary schooling Student Council would like to allow them the opportunity to participate as well.

The Lancer Boys and Girls Soccer teams spent a team bonding day enjoying the Columbus Crew game on Oct. 6. The Crew played Sporting Kansas and the game ended in a tie 1-1 with an exciting last minute shot.  The Lancer girls’ team finished their season with a 4-2 conference record for a share of second place in the NWC.  After a hard fought tournament performance on Tuesday, Oct. 16, the boys finished their season with 6 wins, 7 losses, and 5 ties.
