Group home receives recertification

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities recently conducted a licensure review at the Thomas Edison group home facility in Van Wert.
The department’s review specialist/team conducted a series of observations, interviews and record reviews to determine the facility’s compliance with licensure rules adopted under Chapter 5123 of the Ohio Revised Code.
There were no deficiencies issues as a result of this review. Based on the outcome of the review, the facility is eligible for a three-year license.
Mercer Residential Services Inc., which operates the group home, is a private nonprofit organization established in 1977 and provides an array of services from group homes, homemaker/personal care services, vocational, recreational and social activities for people with developmental disabilities in Auglaize, Darke, Mercer and Van Wert counties.
